Internship in the Domain Specific Applications Unit: Christian Huber

Christian Huber studies at the Johannes Kepler University Linz and developed a web application for the exhibit in his internship as part of the SafeSign project.

What is your name, how old are you, where are you from?

My name is Christian Huber. I am 21 years old and come from Kematen an der Krems.

How did you hear about RISC Software?

Through my cousin, who works here in Logistics Informatics. But the interest was aroused by his interesting stories about the projects he is currently working on.

In which department did you work and what were your tasks?

I worked in the Domain-Specific-Applications department. There I was able to work on the mobile SafeSign exhibit. The idea is to playfully test how an AI, which recognizes traffic signs, deals with damaged or dirty traffic signs. My task was to design a web application where you can change a traffic sign (through various filters) until the AI makes a mistake. I was also allowed to make changes to the hardware.

How did you feel about your work environment?

The working atmosphere was very pleasant. You always felt comfortable and in good hands from day one. If you had any technical questions, you could turn to anyone at any time, and you never felt abandoned. What I also really appreciate is that you don’t just spend time with each other at work, but also when cooking during lunch breaks or at company events.

Will you continue to work at RISC Software GmbH?

At the moment rather no, because the way to work is very long. But I could imagine a bachelor thesis very well, because I really enjoyed working on the RISC software.
