Stefanie Kritzinger-Griebler: Unit Manager
Stefanie Kritzinger-Griebler studied mathematics in Salzburg and is unit manager of the Logistics Informatics department.
What kind of education do you have?
I graduated from the High School of the Franciscan Sisters in Vöcklabruck and subsequently studied mathematics at the University of Salzburg. After my studies I worked at the University of Vienna at the Chair of Production and Logistics and at the Johannes Kepler University Linz at the Institute of Production and Logistics Management. During this time I completed PhD studies in Statistics and Operations Research at the University of Vienna.
What made you decide to study engineering?
I was already an enthusiastic mathematician during my school years and thus also very interested in the natural sciences and technology. Deciding which field of study was right for me was very easy: I enrolled in the mathematics program in Salzburg, which presented me with exciting challenges. In my thesis, I was allowed to work out statistical analyses for the optimization of rescue transports, which gave me insight into the optimization of transport problems. When I was offered the opportunity to continue my scientific work in this field, I took it and I still enjoy dealing with exciting problems in the field of production and logistics.
How long have you been working at RISC Software GmbH?
I have been with RISC Software GmbH since October 2014.
What are your responsibilities at RISC Software GmbH?
Since the beginning of 2019, I have been in charge of the Logistics Informatics unit, which makes my field of activity very diverse. My tasks include the content-related and commercial organization, planning and coordination of my colleagues, project acquisition and development as well as the support of customer and research projects.
What do you like about your job?
I really like the fact that my job is very versatile. On the one hand, I get to manage and develop the team in the Logistics Informatics unit and work on new (corporate) strategies, and on the other hand, I get to help design exciting projects. It’s a great feeling to put unique projects into practice and to see that significant added value can be generated as a result.
Would you choose to study engineering again?
Absolutely!
