R.E.S.I.: Smart Energy Management with AI
The Upper Austrian energy startup Energy+ and RISC Software are collaborating to develop smart optimization mechanisms for the R.E.S.I. energy management system—Renewable Energy smart & intelligent.

Initial situation
Energy+ Solutions GmbH, based in Engerwitzdorf, has extensive experience with photovoltaic and energy storage solutions. With R.E.S.I., the company is developing an energy management system that integrates photovoltaics, energy storage, and consumers into a single intelligent system. The goal is to use renewable energy as efficiently as possible and to continuously improve the interaction between generation, storage, and consumption. Energy+ was looking for a strong research partner to help with further development.
Intelligent Control Instead of Merely Reacting
The collaboration focuses on new approaches to the intelligent control of energy flows. RISC Software is developing optimization models that will be integrated into R.E.S.I. in the future. RISC Software contributes its expertise in multi-output optimization, AI methods, and intelligent decision-making logic.
AI-powered optimization plans energy usage for the next day in a way that maximizes the efficient use of renewable sources and storage. This is based on forecasts of available renewable energy and expected consumption.
Practical Experience Meets Research Expertise
The partnership combines Energy+’s practical experience with RISC Software’s data-driven optimization expertise. Together, the two companies are driving innovation in the energy sector and developing new technologies for more efficient use of renewable energy.
The project is funded by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) as part of the 2025 Basic Research Program call for proposals.
