Project Launch voxERP: Voice Control for the ERP Systems of the Future
The research project voxERP, funded by the FFG (Austrian Research Promotion Agency), has officially started. The goal of this project is to develop an AI component that supports users in ERP systems through voice-based interaction.
The challenge: ERP systems are complex and often cumbersome – especially when used on mobile devices while on the go. voxERP aims to simplify the handling of these systems through a voice-controlled solution – even when users don’t have a free hand or input via mobile phone is too inconvenient.
The Goal
The voxERP consortium, consisting of RISC Software GmbH and Zentro GmbH, is working on enabling ERP systems to be operated via natural language input. Routine tasks such as creating, updating, or deleting records should be carried out more efficiently by automatically opening the relevant forms in the ERP interface and pre-filling fields. This leads to significant time savings and greater user convenience.
The Vision
In the long term, voice control is to be integrated into users’ daily workflows. voxERP could thus evolve into a true “headless ERP” – a system that performs frequent interactions and commands without requiring traditional screen-based input. Especially in situations where users don’t have a free hand, voxERP offers significant added value.
The project’s kick-off meeting took place on November 6, 2024, marking the start of an initiative that aims to revolutionize the use of ERP systems.
